festival in Kota city is celebrated during the month of
September-October marked by a number of glittering processions which
attracts thousands of people from the surrounding villages. Displayed
during this festival are the small idols of Lord Ram, Sita and Lakhsman
as common works of sculpture.There are number of fairs organised during this period which gives an excellent opportunity to the traders to display their attractive handicrafts to the rural and urban buyers. Tall effigies of the Ravana, Kumbhakarana and Meghnad are made for this day and are burnt to symbolise the victory of good over evil. Dussehra is quite a unique festival and it marks the beginning of a festive period. |
