Pushkar Camel Fair is one of the largest fairs that take place in India.
This is held every year during the months of October or November. During
this fair, large numbers of people come to the city of Ajmer for live
stock trading, horse dealing, pilgrimage and religious festival. This
event is attended by a number of tourists along-with devotees,
musicians, dancers, traders, etc.During the first part of this fair, the cattle and camel trading is at its peak while the other part is marked by religious activities - the devotees take dips in the holy Sarovar Lake, as the sacred water is known to bestow salvation. Pushkar fair has a magic in its festivity and is also said to be a true feast for eyes. |
