Rajasthan Music and Dances

tale about Rajasthan is incomplete with a mention about music and dance.
Almost every region of Rajasthan has its own very dialect of music and
dance. The Ghoomar dance from Udaipur and Kaibeliya dance of Jaisalmer
are greatly admired every where in the world. Through these songs the
legendary stories about Rajputana battles are told. Music and dance are
deeply ingrained in Rajasthani life. With the use of a number of musical
instruments including sarangi, kamaycha, satara, nad, and morchang, the
environment takes us back to the old periods of Rajputs.
Accompanied by the heat and dust storms, are the folk dances of
Rajasthan that keeps them going under such harsh living conditions. Folk
music is a very important part of Rajasthani culture. Songs that are
sung summarise the stories of battles of Rajputs. Folk songs are
commonly ballads which relate heroic deeds, love stories, and religious
or devotional songs known as bhajans and banis and often accompanied by
musical instruments like dholak, sitar, sarangi etc.
