PLACES TO SEE IN SHEKHAWATI nawalgarhNawalgarh Founded in the 18th century by Nawal Singh, this place was named after him. Many tourists come each year to see the huge fort with colorful bazaar and numerous havelis with intricate architecture. Famous among all are Anandilal Poddar Haveli, Aath Haveli, Hodh Raj Patodia Haveli etc. Mukungarh Mukungarh is built around one of the temple square which is just a few kilometers from the Navalgarh. Mukungarh also has a magnificent fort, which now has been converted into a resort hotel with all modern amenities. There are a few prominent properties here in the form of havelis of Kanoria and Ganriwal, which carried a fine example of fresco paintings. Mandawa has now been converted into a heritage hotel. There are beautiful paintings with interesting forms of Lord Krishna and his cowherds. Different parts of this place have different drawings altogether. The Mandawa family till date has preserved a unique collection of these paintings and antiques and have them displayed in the then durbar hall and now an exotic lounge.
